Caretaker

Overview

Corfe Hills School is looking for a Caretaker to join our busy premises team. In this role you will ensure the School’s buildings, site, premises, equipment and furnishings are safe, secure and maintained to standards defined by the school and legislation. As part of the premises team, priorities can change unexpectedly and you will need to be flexible in your approach, work well under pressure and be confident working with all stakeholders within the school, as well as external contractors when required. You will have responsibility as a main key holder unlocking and locking the school daily and carrying out daily checks.

Part of this role will require you to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance so DIY or building industry experience is essential. There is a requirement to set up of assemblies and exams which involves lifting and moving furniture, you will also walk the site on numerous occasions during the day so will need to physically fit for this role.

Salary / Working Hours

£20,444 per annum rising to £22,129 per annum

Shift allowance £1,430 per annum

Unsocial hours allowance £190 per annum

Grade E, point 7 – 11

37 hours per week, all year

Alternate weeks early shift and late shift:

Late Mon–Thurs 13:30-21:30, Fri 13:30-21:00

Early Mon–Thurs 07:00-15:00, Fri 07:00-14:30

During school holidays the late shift will be: Mon–Thurs 09:00-17:00, Fri 09:00-16:30
