The vision of Corfe Hills Sixth Form is captured in our strapline Together, Owning our Future. The Sixth Form is a partnership between staff and students designed to help students take control of their lives. Our responsibility is to help each individual become the best candidate for the job, the best applicant for the apprenticeship, the best contender for the university place. That is our mission, and by working together, that is what we can achieve.
Results are important, and we are immensely proud of our grades with half of our students achieving A*-B. Between 60-70% of our students go on to study at university, with almost all securing their first choices and in recent years, opportunities in apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships have become increasingly popular.
However, just as important, is making sure students are well supported through these final years in education. We have a dedicated pastoral support team and a fantastic team of experienced sixth form tutors who work closely with each student to ensure they fulfil their potential.
Alongside the subject knowledge gained in lessons, we target the development of personal skills and qualities such as problem solving, study skills, resilience and organisation so that our students leave us as thoughtful, positive and capable young adults.
Our tutor programme is second-to-none, comprising academic mentoring, focused study skills, issue-based discussions and a weekly quiz. It is founded upon cutting edge academic research and developed specifically to meet the needs of sixth form students.
At Corfe Hills we expect students to work hard, and to dream big; to create the opportunities that will enable each student to gain the skills and experiences that give them the edge over the competition. We offer a wide range of Enrichment activities including driver’s education, TEFL, inspiring careers talks and a unique affiliation with The Talent Tap.
