This section contains details of job vacancies at the school including vacancies for support staff, teachers and teaching assistants.
The school always welcomes direct contact from teachers who may be available and seeking work at short notice in all subjects.
In addition to the advertised vacancies, the school is always interested in enquiries from people wishing to become mid-day supervisory assistants. The school has a large number of teaching assistants, some of whom spend years developing their skills for the job and others who use the opportunity as a preparation to go into teaching. When the school receives enquiries from available teachers or those wanting to be teaching assistants and it does not have a vacancy it keeps a record of their interest.
In line with good safeguarding recruitment practice, the school carries out extended DBS checks on all potential employees and volunteers.
Parents will be reassured to know that in order to safeguard children all adults working on the school site are subject to a police child protection checking procedure.
Corfe Hills is an ambitious and high performing school where every student is known and supported to succeed. The school has been on a significant and ambitious improvement journey over the last four years as can be seen by our excellent outcomes. We are also delighted to share that following our recent Ofsted inspection in September 2021 we have been graded good in all categories.
Teaching and Learning
Teaching and Learning is at the heart of all that we do and our personalised professional development programme is centred around our Principles of Teaching that have been shaped by research from, among others, Barak Rosenshine, John Hattie and Doug Lemov. We also follow a lesson structure shaped around these principles that liberates and enables students to Learn to the Max every lesson. We are committed to regular developmental lesson visits and coaching conversations as part of our shared commitment to developing as practitioners.
Corfe Hills School is in a fabulous location within easy reach of Bournemouth and its beaches, Poole and its harbour, the Jurassic Coast and the Dorset countryside.
The school serves the catchment area of Broadstone, Corfe Mullen and the wider area and we truly believe that all of our students are exceptional.
Our Vision and Culture
At Corfe Hills School we are passionate about excellence in learning.
We believe that this is the foundation which will enable our young people to achieve the highest possible outcomes during their time with us. We have the highest expectations of students – that they will engage fully in their learning, have high aspirations for themselves and embrace the wide range of opportunities available to them both inside and outside the classroom.
Our motto is “High Expectations – Exceptional Individuals” and we truly believe in the potential of every young person who joins the school. We also have an exceptionally committed staff, including talented teachers and a fabulous support staff who provide a range of functions including pastoral and administrative support to students.
